GRAN CAIMÁN

The Gran Caimán award is given each year to an outstanding member of the University of Florida’s Hispanic/Latino alumni community.

Our Gran Caimánes are either Hispanic/Latino alumni who are both great representatives of the University of Florida as well as strong contributors to the educational, cultural or social communities in which they participate, or have contributed to the University of Florida in a meaningful way to benefit Hispanic/Latino students or community. They exemplify leadership, integrity, and compassion to the people they serve.

Our 2023 application for the Gran Caimán Award and Poder Award is now OPEN!

The Gran Caimán Award winner will be announced during the 18th Annual Gator Guayabera Guateque on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Jungle Island in Miami, FL and the Poder Award winner will be announced during the 2023 Hispanic Alumni Weekend in Gainesville this Fall.
