Each year, the UF-AHA receives generous contributions from supporters like you, whether it be through direct donations or funds raised through cross-country programming. These funds are apportioned to meet the needs of current University of Florida students, particularly those of Hispanic/Latino heritage, supported through the UF-AHA endowment, specialized scholarships, and the AHA/Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Endowment.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity the UF-AHA scholarship offered me to have financial assistance. On an even deeper level, because I was a student that needed financial help, I learned how to budget and really prioritize what I needed versus wanted. I carry that mindset even now as a working adult.”
“Receiving a UF-AHA scholarship helped motivate me to continue becoming involved in the Hispanic community at UF. My involvement led me to meet lifelong friends and helped me connect at a deeper level with my cultural heritage. Taking on leadership roles within the community also helped me gain many professional skills that led me to my first job.”
