Carlos Hondal is currently the Global Director of Audit and Board Risk Officer for Sitel Group, an International Customer Service Company with over 160,000 employees in Europe, North Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas. He graduated from UF in 1982 and is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner). He is also a “First Generation” college graduate. His experiences include audits & fraud investigations (external and internal) as well as risk consulting. He also has worked in the past with UF’s Office of Technology and Licensing department and has assisted in getting a Patent and Trademark on a medical device used in UF. He has been very active in the UF Association of Hispanic Alumni during the years of 1994 through 2016, serving as President, VP, Treasurer and Board Member. Carlos’ strongest pride is in setting up and being a founder of the UF AHA Endowment Fund. Seeing the AHA Endowment continue to grow and help students, including Hispanics and other minorities attend the University of Florida, is a great feeling for Carlos. He also served four years in the UF Alumni Association National Board of Directors. He was Chairman of the “Special Interest Group” Committee of the UFAA. He was born in Cuba and has lived in South Florida for most of his life, beginning when he was 2 months of age. He is married to Lisette and has two children: Carlos Miguel Hondal (Double Gator and a CPA) and Dr. Carolynne Hondal (Double Gator and a pharmacist). He consistently ends all his correspondence with “Always a Gator” to promote and show his gratitude to UF for the impact the University has had on his life.
