Rosinella D'Ostilio

Class of 2023
Gators Unidos Scholarship 2023

Hello! My name is Rosinella D’Ostilio and I am a proud Latina born in Caracas, Venezuela. I moved to the United States in 2014 with the hopes of growing in a country that would allow me to become the professional woman I have always dreamed of being. Currently, I am a rising Senior at the University of Florida pursuing the Combined Degree program in the Warrington College of Business where I will obtain a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Master of Science in Marketing by Spring 2024.

My passion for marketing started in high school, where I became interested in how brands connect with customers by telling their own, unique stories. To further pursue this passion and make a positive impact in my community, I founded Alimentando Venezuela, a non-profit initiative that sent humanitarian aid to malnourished children and their mothers throughout my country. As this initiative grew and we helped hundreds of families back home, so did my love for marketing which led me to major in it at UF. Now, my goal is to work in the beauty industry to market products that make people feel beautiful and happy in their own skin.

I have made this goal a reality by obtaining an internship at L’Oréal in Miami, Florida in their Travel Retail division. As a Marketing Intern, I had the opportunity to work for fragrance and makeup brands like Ralph Lauren, Armani, Mugler, Viktor&Rolf, and more. This Summer 2023, I will return to L’Oréal as a Marketing intern but in New York City, working in their hair care division with L’Oréal Professionnel.

Lastly, I am involved at UF as a Career and Peer Mentor and a Media Coordinator at The Agency. These involvements have allowed me to connect with peers and professionals, mentor others, and grow into the person I am today.

I am so grateful to be named a 2023 recipient of the Gators Unidos scholarship and I am excited to discover all the doors that this opportunity will open for me and my future as a Latina Gator!
