University of Florida – B.S. 1988
Born in Panama, Liz immigrated to the United States at thirteen to pursue her goals of helping others and making the world a better place. Equipped with the fluency of her native tongue and her BS in Psychology from the University of Florida (88), Liz was selected as one of the first Hispanic female Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assigned to posts such as Miami, Washington, D.C., San Diego, and LA, Liz spent her career building bridges and advocating for victims living in impoverished Latino communities across the country. Now, Liz leverages her security background to “Protect the Magic” as Director of Investigations for The Walt Disney Company. Liz lives in Southern California, is married to a Gator, Rob (BS & MS-Architecture ’88 & ’90) and plans to continue the Gator legacy as one of her twin boys, Derek, embarks on his Biomedical Engineering studies at UF this fall (Go class of 2022!) She continues her efforts to give back to the community by mentoring students and colleagues, fostering dachshunds, and providing support to local schools and charities.
