Kimberly is a triple Gator of Puerto Rican descent. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she moved to Florida just before high school and has since lived in Orlando, Fla. (other than the 8 years spent in Gainesville). She is a partner at Akerman, LLP, one of the top 100 law firms in the nation. During her time in Gainesville, Kimberly was involved with a number of organizations within the College of Journalism and Communications, Greek life, and the Hispanic community. In 2013, she was recognized has one of the most influential Hispanics in Central Florida and has served as the President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida. She currently serves on the Regional Board of Prospera, a non-profit economic development organization assisting Hispanic entrepreneurs. She joined the UF-AHA Board of Directors in July 2013 and served as President from 2017-2019.
