Gators Unidos Scholarship 2024
Ceci Edelberg was originally born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and moved to South Florida when she was 13. She is currently a rising senior studying public relations and minoring in Latin American studies, history and Spanish.
Ceci has a passion for communications, education and creating positive change, which can be seen through her fields of studies and campus involvement.
Within the CJC, she has been the managing director of Alpha PR, the college’s student-run PR firm. In her role, she has restructured the firm and doubled its number of clients and members. She is taking everything she learned to the national level as she prepares to serve as the vice president of professional development on the national Public Relations Student Society of America. She also serves on the college’s international committee, which works to expand the global reach of the CJC and highlight international students’ experiences.
Ceci’s passion for communications and search for community led her to apply to the Hispanic Student Association cabinet, where she has served as director of public relations, chief of staff and is currently serving as cultural affairs officer.
As a Jewish-Latina Gator, Ceci is also extremely proud of her involvement in UF Hillel and Alpha Epsilon Phi. For the past two years, she has been the director of volunteer engagement for Spread Cream Cheese Not Hate, a campaign to combat antisemitism and all forms of hate. In this role, she lead over 250 volunteers from all corners of campus in collecting over 5000 pledges to make campus a better, and safer place for everyone. Additionally, she served as a director for their freshman leadership program. She has also served as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for AEPhi.
Ceci has also been involved in Chomp The Vote, a Student Government agency that registers voters on campus. As a non-citizen, she is passionate about civic engagement. This summer, she is interning for NBCU in NYC as a communications intern for the Late-Night team.
