Mary Faas is currently a Civilian employee for the Department of Defense. She was born and raised in Miami, FL to Syrian Venezuelan immigrants, and currently resides in Arlington, VA. Mary graduated from the University of Florida in 2021 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, and a Bachelors of Arts in Criminology from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Mary continued her education at American University in Washington, DC graduating in 2024 with a Masters of Science in Terrorism and Homeland Security Policy.
During her time at the University of Florida, Mary began her journey as part of the Member Leadership Program. She went on to form an integral part of the Hispanic Student Association’s (HSA) Programming Cabinet where she realized her passion for event coordinating, and eventually went on to serve as HSA’s Vice President of Programming. Additionally, Mary’s involvement during her time at UF included Florida Blue Key, Agency Chair for Bridges Minority Outreach Program, and Ambassador of the University Multicultural Mentorship Program. Mary is thrilled to now give back to the hispanic community as a board member of AHA. She enjoys playing chess, taking her dog Maggie on long walks and spending time with family/friends!
