Lidice (Ferrera) Porro is an attorney and educator with a diverse background and a solid dedication to her work. Born in Havana, Cuba, Lidice immigrated to the United States at the age of 5 and grew up in Houston, TX. Her family later relocated to Miami, FL, leading her to attend the University of Florida (UF). She graduated in 2011 with a degree in English and a minor in French and Francophone Studies. Lidice continued her education at St. Thomas University College of Law, earning her Juris Doctor degree and gaining admission to the Florida Bar in 2016.
Initially focusing her legal career on immigration law and assisting individuals on their journey to citizenship, Lidice subsequently transitioned into business law. She established her law firm, LFPorro Law, where she specializes in transactional matters and provides on-demand legal counsel and support for small businesses.
Lidice’s deep-rooted connection to UF began during her first year of college when she joined the Cuban American Student Association—this pivotal moment sparked her involvement in various leadership roles within the organization and the Hispanic Student Association. Notably, Lidice served as the Executive Director for the 2010 Hispanic Heritage Month, showcasing her passion and commitment to her heritage and community. These diverse experiences have fueled Lidice’s passion for making a positive impact by helping others and giving back to the community, which was pivotal in shaping her journey and growth. Lidice enjoys travel and resides in Plantation, FL with her husband, Christopher (fellow Gator!), daughter Amelie and son Luciano.
